Our Mission – Feed Hungry Children

Did You Know...?

While 29 million children eat federally-funded school lunch each day, only 9 million eat school breakfast. That leaves nearly $2 billion in federal money on the table each year that could be claimed by school feeding programs.
East Side Entrees is proud to be the founder of the “got breakfast?® Foundation” to target childhood hunger in America.

East Side Entrees strongly believes in helping in the fight against childhood hunger. To that end, we have teamed up with various organizations including Share our Strength and The Alliance to End Hunger to help feed hungry children throughout the country.

In 2006, East Side Entrees was the founding organization behind the “got breakfast?® Foundation.” The Foundation works to ensure that every child, regardless of background, starts the school day with a nutritious breakfast in order to learn, grow and develop to the fullest potential. By bringing together the public, private and non-profit sectors, the Foundation will educate communities across the country on the lifelong benefits of eating nutritious meals and help children lead healthy and strong lives.

Former Senators Bob Dole and George McGovern teamed up to help us launch the campaign to combat child hunger in our nation’s schools. In addition to East Side Entrees, current sponsors of the “got breakfast?® Foundation” are Alliance to End Hunger, The Coca-Cola Company, General Mills, the National Dairy Council, and Share Our Strength. East Side Entrees also has come to the aid of needy families by contributing multiple truckloads of food and milk to victims of the Florida hurricanes and Hurricane Katrina.
